I have a new hp chromebook x360, I have added my Envy 4501 printer to it but when I try to print the print box tells me, 'can't connect to printer', so I have to click on the time at the right hand bottom of the screen and under network I have to click on the printer to connect, this will allow me to print but disconnects me from the internet. After I print then I have to repeat the process to connect back to the internet.

I have tried this multiple times. I have a Canon Pixma 2920 and it is not on the list. I have tried multiple others on the list, but it never works. I have tried HTTP and HTTPS. Any ideas? I just got this chromebook and I hate to think I have to return it.
Also have a connected 2nd printer via usb cable. Printer comes up on printer selection window on the windows laptop and works fine. Usb connection of that printer to Chromebook yields only the spinning icon in the printer selection box, also not able to print to pdf file.
I have an MFC-J875DW and it is not listed either. None of them. I can not do anything. I went through hell in the first place getting my chromebooks set up through the cloud back in 2013 and I was able to connect to a Xerox printer at work, but not anymore. There is one HP Office 8600 that I can print to but it belongs to the secretary and I can not use it since I have loads of school work to print out. I can not even work from home anymore and send to the Xerox printer at work. That really hurts especially when I have lessons to work on. At this point, I can only afford a cheap printer for home. I do not have a landline and could not scan to printer which was a bummer with the Brother model I had. I have a Samsung Chromebook.
I can get the printer to work with our iphones and dell computer but not with our chromebooks.. i realize about the google cloud but Ive manually entered IP address into the brother printer on my chromebook but it did not work. hopefully you can help. thank you
Hi. Everything on my chromebook 11e lenovo and on my brother hl-2140 printer has been set upcorrectly. When I go to print the pages print blank. I know the printer is working because the other laptopsprint just fine. Can you recommend anything and also my when my husband had this problem I updatedspooler on his computer.
I tried rolling back restore points on personal laptop and it worked, for about an hour so there is some update attached to this nonsense that eventually kicks in from a spot buried deep within your PC files.
my acer chromebook r 13 does not print to my epson WF-2750. They both are connected to the same network. When I hit print(control+P) the print destination just keeps spinning and never prints. Everything worked gloriously when i used google cloud print (bad google) I cannot find any resource to solve the error of the spinning and get it to print. We have tried everything I had a Canon printer about 2 months ago it stopped working so we bought a HP printer My son is a Systems Analyst he tried everything to try to get the new HP printer to work still will not print The Wi FI is good still nothing My Acer always worked before this year He even printed from his google chromebook and his works great but not mine Anything help will be greatly appreciated Also my Chromebook is about 3 yrs old
It appears only printers that have the Internet Printing Protocol will print from chromebooks. Not all printers have this function for some reason, even new ones. You can browse to find if your printer is on the list of those with IPP. If not then someone should come up with a software patch to make this work.
Thanks John, this helped me finally connect my samsung chromebook to my HP printer via wifi (it never worked by cloud print). But I am still having same problem that I also have with usb conneciton. It starts printing 1/4 of first page and then stalls out. I have deleted printer and reinstalled but no help. Any ideas?
Have tried every solution suggested to get my Canon MX870 to work without luck. As is the case with most, can print from my Samsung Phone, desktop and other laptop but not Acer Chromebook. Hate to purchase a new printer, this one works great from my other devices.

That said, a Windows laptop or MacBook can run the Chrome browser as well as other software supported by those operating systems. Bought one, like having android on a laptop. All my apps work great and there are offline versions of the apps too and you can save things locally on the drive. More people than not work online. The laptop is quick, my android apps all work great on them. I dont use the chrome apps at all tbh. You can also add storage via usb or sd card depending on your model. The best way to think of a chromebook is a phone in laptop form on intel hardware. Very pleased with it tbh.
I am retired and thinking of upgrading from my IPad to a laptop or Chromebook. I use only for internet browsing, news, u-tube,movies, internet banking and security investments, watching sporting events live.Would a chromebook fit my needs for the above? Any disadvantages I should consider? Thank you
There is also a halfway house, i.e. using a chromebook to a access a service like Amazon Workspaces. You can have a cheap, light chromebook with all day battery life but connect to a windows 7 lile desktop with 4gb ram and install whatever windows softwarw you need. If you lose the chromebook, you can get another, install the workspace app and be back up and running immediately where you left off. This should be a mice option if there is Windows applications you cant live without. There is also an option to have MS office included in the price.
Total waste of time. Installed on both laptop and Windows tablet. After shutdown the machine and turned it back on, got the error no bootable drive. I downloaded cloudready and installed via usb flash, everything work.

Please help!I installed chrome Os in my laptop Dell Inspiron 3542. After installation it was running smoothly. Then i shut it down and later turned it on but when i tried to open any play store installed app then it started loading on shelf . same is the case with other apps also. I tried by restarting but nothing happened. Only chrome is working fine. I also tried to install apk files by coping through flash but the package installer app was also missing. Then I reset chrome os after that device was ok and running but again when i turned it on after shutting it down the result was same.please guide me to resolve this problem. 2ff7e9595c
